Natalie as healed Galaxia in a costume she made herself. |

Natalie says:
"I've loved Sailor Moon since I was in 6th grade. After finally seeing the last season when I was in 10th, I immediately fell in love with Galaxia." |
"I was completely transfixed by her gorgeous flowing hair with its fiery gradient. One of my favorite pieces of Sailor Moon artwork is the one with Galaxia and Serenity side by side with their hair basically taking up the entire picture." |
"This one didn't take too much effort either. Except for the wig... It started out as this odd shaded, blondish, straight thing that I obviously had to dye the gradient into and curl. The gradient wasn't bad to put in at all, but curling it was a pain. Unlike the high quality wigs that curl rather easily, this thing was very silky and withstood anykind of heat really well. Which means that curling it took forever. In the end I took each strand of hair, wrapped it into a curling iron (not turned on), and held it carefully over my kitchen stove so that it would pretty much get melted into a curl shape on the iron (the iron is broken and crappy anyway, so I didn't mind the melted wig fibers all over it). That was it." |
"I made the pattern for the dress, but it doesn't fit me well at all. The top is open too much at the neck line, and the skirt is a little too boxy. I did do beading along the neckline, and I think that turned out pretty nice. Very sparkly. I originally wanted to make wings for this as well, but have since scrapped that idea." |
"Sailor Moon is honestly one of my favorite animes ever. It's so naustalgic! I doubt that I will ever make Galaxia's evil form because there's something about it that's...too angular looking.. lol." |
"There are so many costumes I really want to make from the series, and although I'm not entirely thrilled with how this costume came out, I'm happy that I at least got to make a version of Galaxia. :)" |
