Now Nezumi is wearing manga Super Sailor Moon, which she also made herself. |
Nezumi describes the costume in her own words: |
"This costume was always something I wanted to do, I love the drawing for it because it looks like the skirt was painted on with watercolor.... the tricky part was getting the costume to look the same." |
"I hand painted the dye onto the satin, it took a very long time because I had to
do it in strips, I ended up throwing away 2 batches because the colors didn't
bleed right." |
"Then I wasn't sure if I should go with Usagi's traditional yellow hair or stick
with the manga version of her white hair.... it was hard to decide and at first
I was going to do yellow because I thought that having that much white in the
costume would look too dull. I think though, that I chose right because in the
end it all went together perfectly." |
"The materials I used were white bridal satin, eiridescent organza (so pretty),
and red shiny backed material." |
The difference between the manga version and the anime version, as you can see, is that the colors on the skirt and collar do bleed into each other, and the iridescent sleeves and back bow are more white in color than pink. |
Both costumes are absolutely lovely! |
